Aesthetics and its benefits

Facials

Dermaplanning - The procedure of a dermaplanning facial is a deep exfoliation of the skin to safely remove any excess dead skin and vellus hair.. some call it ‘peach fuzz’. Vellus hair can cause trapped bacteria which can then lead to breakouts of the skin. This facial leaves your skin feeling refreshed and brand new. Dermaplanning can promote smoother skin and help to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation of the skin. The procedure has instant results and little to no downtime.

A Microneedling facial is a cosmetic procedure that a skin pen which uses small needles to puncture the first layer of skin. A Vitamin C serum and Hyaluronic Acid is needled into the skin to help promote the production of collagen and new skin cells for firmer and more toned skin texture. Microneedling can help acne, hyperpigmentation, large pores, reduced skin elasticity, scars and stretch marks. If the desired result of a Microneedling facial is to help reduce the look of scaring, it is always recommended to have 2-3 sessions with increased intensity to break down the scar tissue and help to build new facial tissue.

It is always suggested to follow the aftercare of all facial treatments to maximise results and not to risk any damage to the skin. Some of the aftercare advice that may be given is to avoid sun beds, saunas or steam rooms for at least 48 hours after the treatment. You may also be told to not use any retinols or acid based skincare on your skin for at least 3 days following your treatment.

Filler

Injectable filler is most commonly known to be used in lips to give a fuller and more defined look. However filler can be used in majority of the areas of the face including cheeks, jaw, chin, nose. The use of filler is to provide volume and help to adjust facial features. For instance can be used in the jaw to create the look of a sharper jawline or may be used in the cheek area to create a look of a lifted cheek bone.

Aftercare for filler will always be advised after your appointment had taken place. Following this aftercare is vital to ensure you receive the desired result. Some aftercare tips that may be given is to avoid taking part in any strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours after, you also may be told to avoid saunas, steam rooms and sun beds for 28-48 hours after.

The results of filler are instant but some people may experience swelling of the area which will subside in 2-3 days following the treatment, swelling and bruising is completely normal after any filler treatment.

Anti Wrinkle

Anti Wrinkle injections (AKA B0T0X) are used to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles, mostly used in the forehead, frown lines and crows feet (around the eyes). This treatment works by blocking signals to the muscles which cause these to contract in the areas that are injected to stop movement which will then stop any fine lines forming in that area.

Like most other treatments, the aftercare advice given is very important to follow to ensure all clients receive all desired results of the treatment. The aftercare given will be to not touch the area for at least 12 hours, avoid laying or bending down too much as these motions can lead to the product moving from the injected area.

Skin Boosters (Profhilo and Revs Pro 32)

Skin Boosters AKA ‘Injectable Hyaluronic Acid’ some people also know it as a ‘5 Point Face Lift’. The product is a gel like substance which is injected superficially under the surface of the skin to help to improve skin texture, hydration and skin elasticity and give an overall glow.

The purpose of a skin booster is to increase levels of hydration in the skin which can help to stimulate the collagen production. The increased collagen production will help to soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

This procedure is done by injecting 5 points of the each cheek area as shown in the below photograph.

Vitamin Injections (B12)

Vitamin B12 is a natural vitamin which is a vitamin that is localised in the colon. This vitamin is not produced by the body but can be consumed via food and drink such as meat, fish and dairy products. A deficiency of Vitamin B12 can lead to many health complications and someone who is deficient may experience problems such as extreme fatigue, joint and muscle pain.

A B12 injection is administered intramuscular in the deltoid muscle in the arm. The benefits of Vitamins B12 injections include an immune system boost, can lead to a boost in energy which can help with low moods and depression, can help to ease joint and muscle pain and is also known to help aid weight loss along side a healthy diet and regular exercise.
